CranioSacral Therapy (SST) is a gental, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the physiological body system called the cranial system- comprised of the tissue, membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and the spinal cord.
Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, (about the weight of a nickel), CST releases restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, thereby affecting the spine and the entire body.
By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventative health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems, associated with pain and dysfunctions, including:

The CraniaSacral therapist essentially helps the body release restrictions that inhibit the body's normal, self correcting tendencies. Restrictions it has been unable to overcome on its own. Since every body is different, rather than deciding how these changes should be made, the therapist follows subtle rhythms and cues from the body on how to proceed.
CranioSacral Therapy was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician Dr. John E. Pledger following extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University School of Medicine, where he served as a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics.
